Do you know about Zentangle® ? Well I have just discovered this wonderful pure relaxation for my mind. Yoga for the brain so to speak. And now I am a devoted Tangler.
We had the good fortunate to entice a most talented artistic Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) Michele Beuchamp to teach Zentangle® by the founders, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.
This is how 13 novices were converted.
It is winter in the tropics and I am feeling blue … but all I can see is green upon green.
Needless to say this wet monsoon season is relentless.
On the upside – it is warm, the gardens are more than lush … and that I am thankful for. Not the mud, nor the mould, nor the lack of sunshine and inability to be out and about more.
What bliss …

This was from an album that we used to play a lot when I met my husband in the early 1970s.
Sweet memories. Ok I am now smiling.

Ah this one had me thinking. Many creative ideas and thoughts, sadly due to lack of time, this is all I could muster up.

The tropical rain has been relentless these past few days. >150mm in fact.
We are now in our Autumnal Equinox in our Southern Hemisphere

(though in Australia they tend to say our Autumn commenced on 1st March)
Thankfully that will mean no more 34C days, we will be enjoying our lush green gardens, listen to our rainforest breathing a sigh of relief and as our nights will be cooling as well, it will be time to snuggle up. Then before we know it the doonas will come out. Which of course is quite ludicrous as it might be only as low as 19C. But it is all relative to what we have climatised to.
What are the best months to be in the tropics? I favour any time between April and October.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to be part of and witness a fabulous wet monsoon season. If you have never experience it, that is another story.
To bare witness to see the heavens open up, with the heaviest of heaviest of warm rain is just as wonderful. It is just the humidity, the Midgies, the Mozzies, the March Flies that I would happily do without.
But I wouldn’t be dead for quids!

Love the wet season. Who wouldn’t? The cloud cover, the rain, cools the earth enough to make it all so bearable.
It might sound strange, but there are days when you hide from the sunshine. Too many blue skies, too much sunshine, too much heat. Every little nook and cranny in the garden that graces us with shade is utilised by us mere mortals or our faithful dogs as well.

As they say, blues ain’t blues. Could be emotional blues, the colour blue, anything blue. The scope is huge and that is the problem. What, where do you look to find your certain blue. What subject would you like to photograph to make it interesting. What creative processes can you utilize to make it image just that something ‘a little different?’

Just headed down to a friend’s place and we decided to go for a walk to her creek.
Armed with tripod and our cameras we tracked down slippery sodden tracks. Stood in the most refreshing cool waters. Even with the heaviest of tripods well and truly embedded into the creek beds there was some camera movement evident in the slow shutter images.
Still, the little interlude was just magical.

Love that you ladies had such a good time. I’ve been doing this for years and I just called in doodling. It’s so very therapeutic and love that I get lost in it. This looks like a fun workshop.
